Context
Credemtel’s applications cover document management, e-invoicing, certified email (PEC) and enterprise payments. Frequent updates across these systems created a growing number of workflows, environments and dependencies to test. Manual testing was time-consuming and left gaps in coverage.
Credemtel wanted an automated testing approach that could cover its applications, fit into the existing development pipelines and produce results the team could review.
Testing across different applications
The framework had to work across different technologies, domains and architectures. Its requirements were to:
- Automate functional and regression tests across multiple portals and modules.
- Integrate automated validation into the existing CI/CD processes.
- Reduce manual testing while keeping results available for review.
- Keep test scenarios readable and reusable, including for non-technical team members.
Approach
We built a shared automation framework with scenarios written in natural language, allowing non-technical stakeholders to read and validate them. Test runs produce screenshots and reports within Credemtel’s existing delivery tools.
The tests can run in two ways:
- Automatically within continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- On demand, started by Credemtel’s team.
An Outmatic team of one Delivery Manager, one Solution Architect and two developers delivered the work in Agile iterations with Credemtel’s technical leads.
Solution and delivery
The framework supports end-to-end, functional and regression testing across Credemtel’s applications. Reusable test code covers core workflows including authentication, navigation, payments and document management.
We connected the framework to Credemtel’s version control, build and deployment systems so that releases trigger automated validation and produce reports. Its modular structure supports adding tests for new application modules.
Results
The project results included:
- 70% less time spent on manual testing, alongside faster release cycles.
- 50% more functional coverage through automated tests.
- Fewer regressions reaching production.
- Detailed reports available at each release.
- Automated quality checks integrated into CI/CD.
